I’m not sure what you’re asking. You can get OS X on DVD — just walk into any computer store that carries Mac stuff, or order it online. Getting it to run on a beige-box PC can be done, but it takes effort and the results are a little flaky.

The other alternative is to keep an eye on eBay or craigslist for an old iMac. Even the oldest G3 iMac will run 10.4, unless I’m mistaken; it won’t be fast, and you won’t get all the new niftiness of 10.5, but it’s a usable OS X machine for under $100 if you shop around.

Not asking anything, just wondering what the general consensus is.
I wasn't aware OS X was available off the shelf. Thanks for the tip.
So I assume you would not be in favor of Mac clones?
Quality control issue?
