Does anyone here really think Gustav is headed for New Orleans?

I think Gus will make landfall in Texas, but he is very large and storm surge could hit LA, especially if he skirts along the LA coastline. I do not think it is hype, they are in the cone, 30 foot high waves...it is best to leave when you live in a bowl and are down along the coast.

just my 2 pennies.

From what I heard on Fox, they are expecting New Orleans to be on the dirty side of the storm even if it hits Texas.

Thanks!

Texas was my guess a couple of days ago. I still can’t see it heading straight for the La coast. Though, maybe that is wishful thinking on my part. I hope not.

The USN thinks just west of NO ... is that St. Mary parish on the line? I'm not that familiar. Looks to be about 100 miles west of NO.
