Why is it that we haven't seen any polls of who "won" the Saddleback Forum on Saturday night? I find it hard to believe that the MSM didn't do any polls. And if they didn't, you KNOW they would have IF Obama had done well. I think he did SO BAD that they either didn't dare do a poll or, if they did, didn't dare release the results.

Oh, the snap polls have been done, and more detailed polling is going on right now. It's unlikely we'll ever be told the results, and certainly not by the MSM.

As I've said many times, the day McCain pulls ahead of Obama is the day the polls will disappear. They'll reappear when Obama can be made to look like he's ahead

Good catch. People like to talk about journalistic bias in published articles, but bias manifests itself in an even bigger, and harder to detect way, in what is reported in the first place. (e.g., there is so much bad news to be reported along the Mexican border that the media could easily have whipped the public into a border crackdown frenzy if they wanted to. Instead the issue is largely ignored.)

I missed the debate, and I was gone all weekend long. I only had a chance to catch up on the news this morning. I was surprised to find that Good Morning America made absolutely no mention of the debate at all! I, at first, thought that maybe it had been canceled for some reason, so I came on to Free Republic to see what happened.

No surprise, I found out that overwhelmingly the consensus was that McCain won. No wonder GMA never mentioned that it even happened.

Obama surrogates are suggesting that Mac cheated in the Forum; that he heard the questions on the radio before arriving at the church.

The MSM is still polling in an attempt to find a question that will result in something positive for the Messiah.

I'm still in shock about how it turned out. I thought Rick Warren was going to pull the hippy Jesus routine and ask tainted questions. His questions were very fair and largely appropriate for two men seeking the presidency - he definitely went out of his way to be even-handed (and I owe him an apology for some of my earlier comments). Good answers from McCain (damn amazing considering it is McCain, I'd way he was channeling Fred Thompson there - the Reagan comparisons are a bit of a stretch), and Obama came off as a cheap defense lawyer trying not to say anything incriminating about his client.

There is no way to spin Obama's dismal performance - so the MSM has to soften the blow (by, for example, downplaying the debate, not publishing post-debate polls, and limiting analysis to attempts at casting doubt upon the integrity of McCain's performance).

Oh, there will be polls all right, they just have to frame the questions “juuust right” to get their result. Most likely something on the lines of, “if McCain didn’t have an advantage over Obama because he knew the questions before hand, who do you think was the best?” Something like that.

Fox News is doing their part to keep the “McCain cheated” going on. Shep and Molly just surmised that it's always possible that someone could have told him what the questions were, maybe satellite radio, etc. Geesh.
