Towards Kutaisi..
Putin tested the waters and no response.
Putin’s “Welcome Wagon” for Condi?
I am guessing they are an hour out from Tbilisi, but tanks are slow so let’s say 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours.
That is a possibility, and I hope you are right. They are going to Gori and heading north from there.
Regarding Taiwan, if China has any sense at all, the coming Cold War will be the USA and China (and India in the future) vs Russia and Iran.
Russia and Iran’s objective is higher oil prices and control over energy. China, the US and India need not only cheaper energy for their economies, but each other. The economic fortunes of both sides are in conflict.
China’s self interest is to align with the USA against Russia.
This isn’t a “communist” Cold War. It is a Resource Proxy War.
From an old tread head here Georgia is definatley tank country. I think Russia may be tring to cut the country in half, north and south Georgia right down through the valley.
Ping us all when you figure out you’re wrong
I cannot believe this is in Chat.
“Russia will back off in 3 days”.
Mods won’t move it.
Shouldn’t Putin and the Horde be worried about our next move?
Not if they want to cut the country in half.
Our next move would/could be an historic endeavor.
I’m so sorry for your friends. I never did think that Russia would leave though. They’re in and they plan to stay in. (I’m sure you know)
BTB (Bump to Breaking).
Maybe. What makes me wonder is the timing, all my friends are in bed, for instance. The Russians like to put on a show so they might be just dragging their feet about leaving and trying to look tough.
Time will tell.
Eagleburger said the same thing, they are in, why give it up, what are we going to do.
Bush will never abandon the Georgians, and neither will Estonia, Poland, etc.
