No, you aren’t. My husband and I were chilled by the entire opening ceremony. Parts were beautiful; creativity and technology were amply on display. But they could not cover the militaristic ambitions and expectations of their government. The lock-step guard which carried the olympic flag both times chilled us to the bone. Why did they do that? I thought China was thumbing their nose at the world. The children were my favorite part. I loved the song they sang in Greek toward the end. They looked and sounded like angels. Then we looked at that guard and saw their future. The world’s future, if China had its way.
