Reinds me of the mid 1970's "NBC" symbol "N" where they paid someone $500,000 to deign it only to find out that the Nebraska Educational TV system had one almost exactly like it and the designer was only paid a few dollars or none at all. Nebraska sued them for it and per agreement, NBC was allowed to use it but they put a peacock in front of the "N" and later phased the "N" out by the mid 1980's.

Ok, I clicked over to the opening ceremony (I am ashamed - could not stay away)....

Impressions:
The drummers were amazing and, um, a bit intimidating with the red marks on the center of their foreheads...was that intentional?

The rest of the entire special effects with the precise coordination spoke very highly of Chinese precision.

The fireworks were amazing.

Why did the “history” portion of the presentation not include anything about the millions killed by Mao and in the Cultural revolution and in their slave labor camps?
