I often think CGEB's account was hijacked. She used to post normal replies in normal font had had a blank FReeper homepage. Then, literally overnight, she had this elaborate homepage with that now infamous photo and all her posts started appearing in some strange rainbow font. Her posts started getting weird, too. Within a couple of months (s)he was banned. And every day thereafter there'd be a new thread (which would get quickly pulled) asking, "What happened to CGEB?"

Sometimes at the shooting range guys (usually guys) will ask me if I was in the military. I don’t feel the need to lie and say that I was.
It was true. Forget how he was outed. (I had a different screen name then). I do recall that HLL (Hillary's Lovely Legs) had a running battle with CGEB and had figured out that CGEB was a guy. Don't know if she was the first to discover it, but I would not be surprised based on her profession.
sneakypete was the one who ultimately busted him.
