I must disagree. They’re muscular and athletic, and most of them are HOT.
At least they’re not as muscular as that 41 year old female swimmer from the U.S.. She’s kind of manly looking with the square jaw line. Wonder if she used the “Lyle Alzado Formula” for her comeback, too?
Perhaps a better title might be “Coding the Cracks?”

I had always assumed they represented to the server where they should position themselves on the return, and perhaps recommend location of serve.
IE I am front, and blocking, my partner is serving, it is more important for him to know since I am the blocker, if I intend to block the line or the angle. If I block the line, my partner should position themselves defensively for bumping an angle hit.. if I’m blocking the angle, they should be positiong themselves for bumping a line hit.
I freely admit I am no pro volleyballer, but that seems more important for the front player to communicate, its a given as far as I’ve seen, unless someone is grossly out of position that the non server is responsible for the block.
I haven’t seen her yet.
The only olympic sport worth watching.

The front person doesn’t always do the blocking, especially if the server is better. I’m 5’10” and one of my old doubles partners was 6’8”. Obviously he was better at the net, and I covered the back court much better than he did.

This does explain it much more clearly than I did, although it’s basically what I was trying to say.

When I played that was always the server’s decision, but others might do it differently.
