YOU DID IT!

I was looking for the OLD way of getting Find to work where it showed a drop down box which you could fill in, and now it has to be done with Command +F and instead of the drop down box it shows up in the Google box.

Thanks. And thanks to the other people who offered their help.

It works fine now.

Problem solved, Leonard.

I was still doing Edit>Find, and looking for the now non-existent drop down box. Instead, it’s NOT a drop down box, but the Google box at the top right of the screen.

I don’t know when Mac made that change, but you’d kinda think they would have sent a rep to my house and have him personally show me the change they’d made. And buy me a drink. Or two! But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thank God for you guys.

They stopped doin' that when they moved to Intel chips. :-)

Will someone tell me why when I click on Edit and click on Find, it refuses to work. No drop down box at all to fill in whatever you want to find.

First "Find" on the Edit menu has a sub-menu. When you select the sub-menu Edit/Find/find, a drop down "find bar" appears below the Bookmark bar or below the tabs. Over at the right is a search field waiting for your search input.

You can click the "done" button or press ESC to get rid of the bar.

it's not the Google Search box... it's a drop down "find" tool bar:

It will appear below the normal tool bars, bookmark bar, and the tab bar.
