This is one of the first installments from Free Republic's Gun Club. It's going to be a daily discussion on subjects covering firearms, Gun Rights and overall firearms experiences.
Some years ago, Friday seemed to be the time to post photos of our favorite toys. I volunteered to make it a weekly occurance.
One of the things I did learn through the years, though. It's not the gun. It's just a tool in the hands of the person who makes it happen. That rusty and pitted .38 revolver may not look like much but to the owner, it may have helped in getting out of a lot of scrapes. Also, that match pistol may look good but it might have been instrumental in losing more matches than the one half it's price and bone stock.
So let's see 'em. The pretty ones, the ugly ones and the dusty ones including the old favorite grampa gave us when he passed on.

Here's one that one of the kids snapped just before our last major outing. :-)
In the front from right to left is my wife's DPMS AP-4, one of my boys' Mossberg 500, and an Armalite A-2 (same "kid"). In the back in the case on the right is an Armalite LE15A4, and to the left is a new S&W M&P.
We had a good time that day. :-)

“Oooh! Both of our digital cameras are on the blink, but IF I can get one to work, Ill post something! Thanks! :-)”
consider yourself lucky; My favorite starter rifle is sitting at my dad's house, shot out. It's a Stevens Favorite with a three-digit serial number. And my favorite shooter was stolen during a move before my son was born, and he's 16 now. It was a full-dress 1903-A3 Springfield 30-06 with a 4-grove barrel. They got all my other long guns that time, too. Money's been too tight to replace any of them, so I just drool on my keyboard over the gun pr0n threads. ;)

Glock 23 for me. Cheap and utterly reliable. Easy to carry and conceal. In my nightstand while I'm in bed, on my person the rest of the time. With the spare mag I have 26 rounds to neutralize any threat.

I’m really sort of bummed about the cameras... my all time favorite is a rifle that my aunt gave me a couple of years ago. It’s a Remington Model 34, tube feed, bolt action rifle...made back in the 1930s. I scoped it recently, and it is a serious tack driver! When she gave it to me, it had a BAD case of rust! The bore was well protected though! Me and one of my boys stripped it, and painted it camo, and it’s just as ugly as it can be!... but it’s one of the most accurate .22 rifles that we have here! I’m going to do pest control with it in our garden later on today. :-)

Ahhh ... rifles and canning jars.
Looks like you’re set for a while.
What’s in the “SEAL...” bag back in the corner? Goat food? Travis mix?

Here is mine. It is a Star "Firestar" M43 9mm. It is a bit too heavy for comfortable concealment, but you can hardly feel any recoil.

Er...let me have a look at that again! :-)
Ah right! Those bags have wheat berries in them! Just above the cardboard box in the background is a really NICE flour mill. We mill flour, but my wife (the budding survivalist) put all the wheat berries into mylar bags, tossed in some oxygen absorbers, and heat sealed them...then sealed them into food grade five gallon buckets. I "drove" the iron and banged lids on buckets!!!
The only reason we keep weapons is to protect our food. We HAVE a firm grasp on the order of precedence with our priorities. :-)

Here's that STG-58 (parts gun) that I've still got here. My wife
STOLE my sight!...and this hulking man here who used to be one of my "little boys" keeps absconding with the bipod! But it's
STILL a nice shooter and I
LIKE it! :-)
