No, it’s not illegal to kill a javelina. You have to apply for a permit drawing and pay your $28.75 ($105 out of State). Plus, if I’m reading the regs correctly, it is now a Juniors Only Hunt.

I was so overwhelmed with the constant destruction caused by the javelina, that I had Fish and Game come out here last summer - to analyize the situation, and let me know what I could do to deter them, short of ceasing the bird feeding. I was told that there was nothing I could legally do - and that it was illegal to maim or kill them. (That is where I got my information). Guess I should look into it more - but I don’t think I could shoot one.
