Well people, I went out yesterday and bought a computer, an HP Pavilion Slimline with Vista. I set it up and everything is working ok, but one thing I noticed was that my old computer never went down and I realized what had been causing the problem. I was hanging too many things on my old computer and the power drain on the transformer was just too much for it handle, so it overheated and the thermal couple shut it down.
With my new computer I relieved it of its biggest power drain, my TV/monitor, and both computers ran perfectly. Ah well, we live and learn but it has other problems as well which I may be able to clear up now that I know it will not go down.
Of course I have to get rid of all this nasty HP stuff that is loaded in the new computer I have got rid of some of it and will get rid of more later. So far all the tests I have done seem to work OK.
I have a year old HP Pavilion notebook with Vista..It has a big screen so it is not one I tote around much..I notice it has a lot of stuff I don’t use but am afraid to remove as I am apt to remove the wrong thing..LOL
I have had no real problems with it..when a very rare freeze up occurs ..I just turn it off and wait a minute and turn it on.
So glad you discovered you just had your older computer on overload and now it is not overheating.
Hope you get everything fixed up with the new PC. Also hope you like Vista better than I do! Mine’s mostly just sitting there. I keep using my XP, and turn on Vista only periodically, just to do the updates and virus scans.
Glad that you got the new computer and also you figured out your older computer problems. Two computers are better than one I guess. I know you feel better about the older one though.
You’re making me sooo tired, Cardy. I don’t know what I’d do with all that stuff you have. I’ve seen it, and I wouldn’t want to be there at all.
Rots of Ruck, ol’ boy.
