The military 1911 have been known to shoot 250,000 rounds without a problem. That is hard to beat.

I have read of tests like that with the Glock, but never with a 1911. I hear that they usually need reworking about 20,000 rounds, but that it can vary quite a bit because there are so many 1911 manufacturers.
