I have read of tests like that with the Glock, but never with a 1911. I hear that they usually need reworking about 20,000 rounds, but that it can vary quite a bit because there are so many 1911 manufacturers

I had to qualify with one that had over a 2’ group at 15 yards. It needed a rebuild.

1911’s need a new recoil spring after 10,000 rounds.

I also needed to send six Wilson magazines back because they were worn out. Three had to be replaced and the other three needed new followers and springs.
