The Corpse Had a Familiar Face by Edna Buchanan--Memoir of the Miami Herald's police reporter. Ms. Buchanan writes the most economical yet vivid prose. She conveys in a few paragraphs what a lesser writer would need multiple pages to recount.
Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell--I recently reread this book. It gets better every time.

I’ve read Gone With the Wind many times too. (I wish the ending was different) I’m a hopeless romantic.
The Buchanon book sounds very good too and a great author can do that, you know, make less “more.” Thank you!
