One of the things that 'floats the boat' of 'comic boy' is defending your right to call him comic boy on an internet forum. The least you can do is show some respect, at the very least for his service if not for him as a person.
Jude, you get both types of respect from me. I'll pray for you.
As for the movie, I have read a good number of Batman comics, and the way they depict the Batman is the correct manner (based on the writing of the character over the years). Batman is supposed to be a dark character, technically insane if you look at it from a certain angle, and the Joker was never a ha-ha character (he's been a murdering psycopath in all his iterations).
It's glad to see a movie that actually looks at the source material before churning out celluloid. If one wants to feel good they should go watch Superman ....if one wants to see a flawed human, who has no reason to be good but still decides to do good, then they should go watch Batman.
You assume some things - that s/he is really going to Iraq. That s/he is going as a soldier and not as an independent contractor.
You also overlook the fact that s/he was incessantly rude throughout the exchange. Disrespect begets disrespect.
End of discussion.
