Most remakes are bad ideas and demonstrations of hubris. The 2005 King Kong (and the dreadful one from the 80) are evidence of just that.

Remaking any Hitchcock — even worse. But Hollywood can't seem to resist.

Yep. About as bad as the remake they did of "Psycho." How do you improve on Mr. Hitchcock's masterful work?
