Newly formed Tropical Storm Dolly over the NW Caribbean Sea near 18.4N 84.2W. 1008 MB at 11AM this morning. Max sustained winds 40KT, gusts 50KT, moving NW at 15KT.
At this pace, Dolly is going to be around a terribly long time. She is creeping.
Wind speeds don’t yet support Cat 2. Still could happen because she’s intensifying and moving very slowly.
No seriously, we’re not. We’re just cutting up a little.
She’s 45 miles outside Brownsville and moving at a crawling 8mph according to TWC.
Hunkered down here on the more western end of the valley...watching.
The ground is already pretty wet.
Galveston - We’re getting some ‘dirty side’ goodies. Rained all night, winds still due West, creepy green clouds.
Who ordered the green clouds?
Hello Dolly!
Well, Hello Dolly!
It seems you're steering north of Mexico.
You're causing swells, Dolly,
I can tell Dolly,
You're still growing
You're still blowing,
You're still going strong.
We feel the boat swaying
And the surf's spraying,
While the dudes dash to the shore
for hangin' ten,
So...golly gee fellas,
Send her back out to sea, fellas,
Dolly just needs to blow away,
Dolly you're causing much dismay,
Dolly, won't you just fall apart today?
By the way; DUCK!
All hail the green clouds.
Girl, I know you’re kind of new down here. Watch that water down by Mission. If it starts even puddling, get out of there, or you’ll be on an island for a couple of weeks. PM me if you need a place to move an RV to.
Groan. But hey, I’m singing your song!
My granddaughter wants pop tarts. I offered her spag . I told her yall said it scares hurricanes away. She said to tell yall to eat apples instead:’)
Several years ago, don-o and I were singing during a hurricane, and we broke the internet.
Green clouds...hail. If they are rolling take cover. Possible tornado.
That was really more of a general comment. There’s always some person who decides to go to the store in the height of the storm because it’s ‘only’ a Cat 1.

Tell her Beulah, Alan, Barry, Gilbert, and Emily said so. It is proved. Eat apples with the spaghetti, if she must.
Probably because S Padre Island is in the right-front quadrant of the hurricane which typically contains the strongest winds and the highest storm surge.
