I recall maw maw Blanco saying she did not know Katrina had changed direction, I like that they put it out there early, no excuses for another Katrina...FR was all over Katrina hitting NO, way before the media was. Anytime a storm gets in the gulf oil goes up, no matter when reported, but I understand your point.

i think they do a great job at advising us when a deadly storm such as katrina is coming. just don’t start too early. i know how these things can change. 1976 guam, went to bed without the island being threatened by super typhoon pamela. the next morning she was making a beeline for the center of the island and hit us with 190+ sustained winds for 36 hours. (google her)

Now I keep a tactical Diesel reserve to get me through the whole hurricane season along with the Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day fuel price shenanigans.
