Yeah, I don’t know. There’s been speculation for years that he’s gay, though a bio says he married his high school sweetheart in 1967 but the marriage didn’t last. I have no idea if he’s gay or has AIDS or what. As has been mentioned, it could be cancer or diabetes — lots of things. Clearly he’s unhealthy looking, regardless.

Actually he says he did not write that one. It's a myth. Link (paragraph 6)

He looks like a cross between Barbara Walters and Clay Aitken.

IIRC, Mandy was a dog.

I mean, of the canine variety.

Ouch, not a good look for anyone. ;-)

He does look very ill.

Agree. He needs his thyroid checked. That's the one that hits your heart, in your 50’s-60’s, without a warning—except the weight loss, and tachycardia. drop dead in mid-mango, and no cardiac issues in the autopsy.

He was never heavy, and not much of a looker - but he is thin now. I liked some of his songs.

Rep shoots down rumors Barry Manilow is sick
http://www.accesshollywood.com/article/10378/rep-shoots-down-rumors-barry-manilow-is-sick/

LOS ANGELES, Calif. —

Barry Manilow may be a slim man, but he certainly hasn’t dropped to 100 pounds, according to his publicist.

Pictures of the star looking thin while seen walking with a pal on a Malibu beach July 4, left fans worried and prompted tabloid reports that he was sick. But according to Barry’s rep, nothing could be further from the truth.

“He’s pretty trim,” his rep said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “But 100 pounds? Give us a break. Even Mary-Kate and Ashley [Olsen] weigh more than 100 pounds. And no… he’s not ill.”

The rep added that Barry, who underwent hip surgery in August 2006, is gearing up for his ongoing show in Las Vegas at the Hilton.

The star is also recording a new album as well as, “putting together a new arena show, starting on his new, original rock album and sometimes even enjoying the beach.”

Barry Manilow changed my life. Now because of Barry every time I see one of those little intercons at the gas pump I compulsively hit the button and start singing "Feeeeeeeelingss whoa whoa whoa feeeeeeelingsss"

It's become my calling card.

I think you might be attributing your life-altering ritual to the wrong guy. :-)

Doh! You are correct, my signature song is by Morris Albert.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I've been wrong for 33 years on that one, holy smokes. Oh well, the cashiers still love it....at least I think they do.

I had a similar experience with the song “Afternoon Delight.” Though I don’t sing it out loud or anything. :) For years I thought it was sung by this old one-guy-two-girls 70’s country music trio called Dave & Sugar. When it was told to me that it was Starland Vocal Band, I protested. Ooops.
