Our cat passed away in March, she was 16, but shortly before her passing we discovered pill pockets. Those things work like a charm. Two words...love them. I only wish I had come up with the idea. Our dogs are so much easier, just cover the pill (or anything for that matter) in PB and it’s gone.

My dogs are easy just wrap the pill in any kind of human food and they slurp it down. I never heard of pill pockets, that sounds great because cats can be difficult to medicate. My vet (also he is my brother) showed me how to give a cat a pill. You hold the cat by the back of the head in your left had. Gently you sway the cat around until they are concentrating on keeping their balance. Then very quickly you force the cats mouth open, still with the fingers of your left hand. Then very quickly with your right hand you stick the pill all the way down its throat and then hold its mouth closed until they swallow. It is a little tricky and if you have a small hand and your cat has a big head it would be difficult. It has to all be done smoothly and quickly so the cat doesn't bite you. The pill pockets sound easier but a sardine would work as good as a pill pocket I'll bet ya’.
