Hillary Supporters Planning to Nomination Her at Dem Convention

Top Colorado Hillary supporter just on Fox News (first name Heidi; didn't get last name). According to her, the Dem Party is in "disarray" and she is part of a group that intends to nominate Hillary as the Dem presidential candidate at the Dem convention. Reporter noted that 'it would be great tv,' to which she replied that 'it would be good for the party and the country.'

As Osama self-destructs, let the games begin!

The following appeared in the NY Daily News Letters to the Editor.

“I am writing in support of an Obama-Clinton ticket for 2008. I was one of Clinton’s 18 million passionate supporters who was devastated at the end of the primary season. Since that time, I have been unmotivated to support anyone. However, if Barack Obama were to make Hillary Clinton his running mate, all the enthusiasm I felt would be reignited. I would be thrilled to volunteer for field work, make long-distance calls into those pivotal swing states and generally do whatever I could to support this dream ticket.

I’m a 55-year-old white, middle-class woman, and I know that there are millions of others out there just like me - people who would sit out this election if Obama were to choose someone other than Hillary but who would be galvanized into action by an Obama-Clinton ticket. If Obama truly wants to win this presidential race, this is the way to make it happen.”

Beware, the fat lady hasn’t sung and it ain’t over yet. Remember she’d take the VP slot if offered.

No way she'd take it. That would be political suicide.
Hillary understands that despite the political climate, regardless of the media fawning or mid-summer polling, Obama can't win the election in November. If she is on a losing ticket, then her higher aspirations are over. She'd rather wait it out til 2012 and come back and say "don't make the same mistake again."

However, if an Obama/Clinton ticket did win, and I think Hillary believes that she and she alone could deliver the election for Obama, it would be the only thing worse than being on a losing ticket. It would mean that she would be out of the running until 2016 at the age of 68 and in the role of sitting vice president, which has only been done successfully by George H.W. Bush and Martin Van Buren.

And then finally, Obama can't very well run against the Establishment with the Establishment as his running mate. And finally, Obama knows that the only way taking the VP slot would be advantageous is if he isn't able to finish his term for one reason or another. And if anyone could make that happen, it would be the Clintons.

I can see it now. A question to the convention is raised as to the U.S. citizenship of Obama. A birth certificate is produced that proves Obama is a Kenyan citizen and unqualified to be president by the Constitution.

Hillary is nominated as the Democrat candidate.

All hell breaks out in the nation.

No. Operation Chaos prolonged the dem primary. As a result, BHO and HRC kept launching attacks at each other that would not have happened if the nominee was decided sooner. Both sides became emotionally attached to their candidate and are unwilling to present the unified front that the party keeps claiming. The longer they fight amongst themselves, the better for the country.

The final stage of Operation Chaos should be an appeal directly to Hillary supporters to vote for McCain as the last hope for Hillary to run for the nomination again in '12.
