Mine has been great out of the box - the only thing I don’t like about it is when I put it back together after cleaning getting the barrel bushing squared away is tough.
The only hard part about mine was getting it: the doofus gun dealer I dealt with initially said that it did not exist. Even printing a web page and taking it to him didn’t get it to sink in, so I got it elsewhere and have written the guy off forever.
It’s the first time I have ever needed the bushing wrench which was included with the pistol. I have a couple of them that I have never needed.
I had to check your location because I had the same problem. Two gunshop owners told me it didn’t exist and the magazine ads were just teasers when they finally go into production.
You were lucky about the sights. I was very disappointed but I am pleased with the turn around time. I was warned about that by some people.
I had trouble with a early Colt Combat Commander. It never worked with semiwadcutters. I finally sent it in after about ten years of playing with it for a reramp and throat job. It still didn’t work well. I didn’t know you have to change out the recoil springs every 10,000 rounds. That still didn’t fix it but I did notice some mags worked well.
I sent six Wilson magazines back to the factory. Three weeks later I open the box and there are only three in a zip lock bag. Under all the plastic were three brand new magazines still in the wrappers. The three in the ziplock had all new followers and springs.
The Commander is now flawless. I waited over ten years of playing with it to have it work this well.
