Check the box. The proper name is .45 Colt. I haven’t figured out why the “long” is necessary.

The Judge is probably a fine gun for being out in snake country but I would never think to use the shotshells for self defense against two legged predators. It also doesn’t seem to make sense to use the .45 Colt shotshells in a gun that was specifically designed to handle .410’s.

It is a close range in home defense. It is also good if might shoot into the home next to you. I put two of the shot in the first chambers. Then the next three are 45 hollow point.

Those shotshells are nothing more than snakeshot. I would not use them for anything else. The Judge seems to be an ideal survival and camp gun used against snakes, small predators and using the .45 Colts, two legged predators.

You’re much better off using your .40 for home defense.

Absolutely not unless a snake invades your campsite. Yes it’s available but I don’t know why anyone would bother. It might be fun to try on odd targets like at a junkyard or something similar.

The shells were designed to be used against snakes and other vermin such as rats.

.45 Colt
#9 shot
150 grain weight of shot
1000 Feet Per Second from a six inch barrel.

Again, not for self defense use.

I was trying to make you think for yourself. Do you honestly think a cartridge that was designed to penetrate the skin of a snake or a rat would put down a 200 pound assailant?

These shotshells have no penetration or power. The shot is much smaller than a BB and has no shock value. #9’s measure .080 and BB in a Daisy Red Rider measure .117.
