I wondered how long Tapping could stay away from sci-fi after 10 years at StarGate.

About the only programs I watch on the Sci-Fi Channel are the Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International. I can’t stand watching the movies they make. The graphics are so bad.

The series will debut on Sci Fi Channel this fall. I've thought highly of Amanda Tapping. She's done wonderful work on both of the
Stargate shows she's appeared on. We all wish her the best in her new role on
Sanctuary.

I’m all for the whole idea of internet mini-series - I know Joss Whedon’s new one starts tomorrow =) It’s so much more convenient to watch stuff online, but it’s still nice to be able to sit down for dinner, turn on the TV, and have something interesting on.
However, since my experience has indicated that 99% of anything labelled ‘SciFi Channel Original _____’ is better described as ‘MST3K Fodder’, I’m a still a bit skeptical about this specific one.

Yes. It could eat a big hole out of the cable networks. Why pay $80/month for 200 channels when you only want a few.
They better start de-bundling or they’re going to get hurt.

Each webisode will be around 15 minutes long, with three webisodes comprising one 45-minute episode. High definition downloads are available for a fee on the official website.

I doubt it’ll be that big. The subsection of the world that connect a PC to the TV is still fairly small, and with TVs getting bigger there’s not much reason to watch something on the PC. Maybe in another decade or so if non-tech people are doing media center PCs by then, but until then the automatic limitations of the audience is too significant.
