Jose Canseco may be known for among other things knocking balls out of the park. But Saturday, he couldn't help but be a victim of a knockout of a different kind.
The 6-foot-4 ex-slugger was KO'd by former Philadelphia Eagles kick returner, 5-foot-9 Vai Sikahema, in the first round of their celebrity boxing match in Atlantic City, according to a report by the Press of Atlantic City.

one round?...Man I would want my money back! Heck, I want my money back for having to sit at MLB games when Canseco played!
It’s not size that matters, it’s how you use it! LOL!
Seeing Jose Conseco knocked out in round 1=PRICELESS!
Canseco should have noticed the lack of confidence his cornermen had in him when they rented out the bottoms of his shoes for advertising space.. :-)
Vai is also a bishop of the LDS....and a Sportsnew s Director of NBC 10
Sikahema is not a little guy. Hes sort of Samoan looking with huge arms.
And a feared hitter..for at least the first 8-10 years of his 17 yr. career. I think he had at least 6 seasons of over 100 rbi's....and hit over 450 hr's in his career also. Yeah, they are tainted stats..secondary to 'roids...but they are what they are.
I never "liked" the guy...cause he always seemed to do well against my team, the Angels.
I just cracked up...when I saw this article.
I LOVE it! He had been begging for someone to fight him and he, and the promoters, assumed he would win. The entire plan was to basically pay someone for Jose to beat. I believe the original offer was only for $3,000 and they assumed some washed-up former athlete would be desperate enough to take it. Looks like nobody was. So they up the price and end up with a name nobody knows but one they can at least point out was a former football player.
Jose had actually been training for this for a while, and they assumed that his being in training, plus presumptive better general conditioning, would further ensure a win.
But Jose not only loses, he gets knocked out. And he not only gets knocked out, it happens in the first round! The only thing that would have made it better is if it had been a placekicker instead of a kick returner.
PLEASE tell me this is on YouTube.
I live in C-town and watched him have that ball bounce off his head for a home run. I’m sure he had some years of untainted stats but a huge black cloud in my mind over his career...
I like the Angels this year. Love Vlad and Hunter and Figgins when he’s not hurt!
But he sucked as a pitcher.
Here's my fav..

Yeah, they have a very good team.
U B right...
That had to be the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. The befuddled looking around, followed by his sheepish grin as it dawned on him what happened....
Yep, that had to be one of the Top Ten All-Time boneheaded moves in baseball history.
