Extremely well said. You really encapsulated the same pain I feel when I see my fellow Americans ignoring our Anthem or our Flag.
I’m from your parents generation, and was brought up in a different world than the one you are confronted with now. All I can think is that it is young people of your ilk who are our destiny now.

Excellent post. Its not just the current generation though dear. What is called the Greatest Generation let this country down in many ways politically, and it has continued the slide since.
Do what you can, but don’t get depressed. At the very worst, you will be no worse off than our founders were when they started their struggle.

Every time I hear the national anthem my eyes tear up and my heart pounds because I think of how many times the sight of our flag has meant freedom, resuce, and safety.That is what has been lost. Patriotism.
