And, if I remember correctly, so was the predecessor settlement on Roanoke Island in present day-North Carolina. Unfortunately, the Disney version of "Pocahontas" tends to muddle folks' minds.
“As Americans we face a new form of tyranny today. We see it from the people who would like to have their America custom fitted to them. They would like to give evil men the rights of our citizens. They want to split wide our borders and indoctrinate our children. They take and take and take, but have never given.”
A more perfect definition than this of the Muslim presence in America has never before been written. Especially “they take and take and take.” Islam in America described to a T.
Brava, young lady! May we hope for further insights on a regular basis? (Oh, and please join the Army and become a warrant officer, just like me.)
:^)
#62 is to you, Feline_AIDS :-)
Pop culture will do that to folks.
Great post. My daughters, who are 21, feel the same. Don’t lose the fire, and love for our country that you have now. If we can find enough Americans like you who are willing to stand up and fight, we can turn this country around. But only by putting God first, then country will that happen. It gives me hope when I hear young people express the sentiments you do.
Don’t give up all hope.
I’m retired Army. I joined when I was 17 & 1/2 for every one of the reasons you stated. I joined three years after Vietnam “ended” and my family and friends thought I was nuts.
But, you either LEAD, FOLLOW or Get Out of the Way! :)
And I agree 100%. WE THE PEOPLE need to roust out ALL of the dead wood currently in Congress on BOTH sides of the aisle.
Worst. Congress. Ever.
As evidenced by the 9% rating.
Stick to your principles little girl. The objective is not to survive but to prevail.
"Faith is different from proof; the latter is human, the former is a Gift from God." Blaise Pascal
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke in a letter to William Smith on Jan. 9, 1795
Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little. Edmund Burke
The point of this next quote will become more evident as you become older.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. C.S. Lewis
Of which the Media never speaks!
Nice rant. Well said.
Keep your powder dry.
Best,

The screen name is from the “Debbie Downer” skits on SNL. At one point Debbie Downer said, “Feline AIDS is the number one killer of domestic cats.”

Check it out... it’s pretty funny.
“And so my generation will let the lifeblood of America, this beautiful and righteous nation, slip through the cracks in their fingers as they each look at the blood on their hands and point to the rest of us, blaming us for trying to save her while we still could.”
I respectfully disagree. Our generation (I’m 18) grew up in the shadow of 9/11. Patriots of our generation are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan right now. You should not judge an entire generation based on one college campus.
“Do not join the marines or any service. Because after November you will surely be ordered to do the devil’s work.”
Sir, that is bad advice. Our military and this country have withstood bad Presidents before. We withstood Jimmy Carter and even a civil war. I believe it is a line from the movie, The Patriot, “Will you when your country needs you most stop only at words?” Our country faces enemies from within and from without and it is the pinnacle of selfishness to refuse to defend her simply because you disagree with the policies of the (then) current administration.
I certainly do not base my views on one college campus. We conservatives are, however, in the minority on college campuses.
I have great hope for our generation, but at present most are brainwashed into something I'd like to coin “the doctrine of inevitable liberalism.” Basically they are taught that if society is good, then society is “progressive.” If society is progressive, it accepts all sorts of reforms, and if you oppose it, you are stupid, backward, and a racist/a bigot. The reason I think we are in more trouble than in the past is that more people are being tricked, and fewer are trying to stand against these changes.
So, looks like we gotta match here.....
