Now that is a real liberal nightmare, two endangered species eating each other."One of those 'Circle of Life' kind of things."

Those Spinner sharks go air-born quite a bit, especially when you've hooked one - you need extra long leader material, because they'll wrap it around their abrasive skin while they're out of the water ‘spinning.’
This one probably ran up on the guy's feet and at the last second realized this was not normal prey and aborted by flipping up and out!

Of course I’ve seen plenty of sharks literally surfing down through the length of breaking waves - I’m pretty darn sure that they’re doing that for fun just like the people are.

Good observation.
You think sharks do sometimes play in the surf?
I have always thought of Sharks as not very intelligent fish, I wouldnt think they would enjoy playing.
If fish and mammals do play in the surf that could account for the number of beached marine life we find.

Why study the Greenland shark? In the eastern Arctic "this is the apex (top) predator, the king of the food web, along with the polar bear. There's a sister species in the western Arctic. And as with any ecosystem, if you don't know anything about the apex predator, you're in a lot of trouble figuring out what's going on."
Apex Predator??? Can a shark that is clearly built to scavange the ocean's bottom for DEAD STUFF be considered an "Apex Predator"?
Consider this cr@ppy science reporting the next time a 'journalist' tries to convince you of the validity of Global Warming (or any other dubious scientific theory)!

What's that thing hanging off the shark's eye
It is a worm that attaches itself to the sharks eyeball. Since it has no way to remove the worm, it't parasitic feeding eventually leads to the total blindness of said creature.
I'm not a biologist but I stayed at an Holiday Inn last night....lol
