I can picture Patrick Swaze watching the remake, then going outside yelling "AVENGE ME!"

They probably won’t allow the rebels in the remake to carry guns.

The way some things are looking . . .
They’d better hurry or Martial Law officials will not allow it’s showing.

I seriously doubt movie makers today can even come close to the very un PC original. I fully expect the NEo-Nazi terrorists to get their asses kicked by the cheer leading squad.

As Red Dawn scared the heck out of people in 1984 I watched at the base theater in '84 and remember everyone laughing all through it. The mock-ups of Soviet equipment were particularly lame.

It won’t be the Russians and Cubans invading, it will be evil corporations lead by W and Dick. The last bastions of Enron will take over Texas.
“Is anyone on our side?”
“Yup, 500 million screamin chinamen.”
“I thought there were a billion chinamen.”
“There were.”

As Red Dawn scared the heck out of people in 1984, we feel that the world is kind of already filled with a lot of paranoia and unease, so why not scare the hell out of people againOnly this time the bad guys will be bitter white middle class americans clinging to guns and religion. The heroes will probably be a couple of guys who turn out falling in love and having a homosexual relationship. It will undoubtedly show anyone who likes guns as an ignorant racist redneck - trust hollywood on this.

Given hollywood today, I bet you it will involve rebels against an evil “right wing” government.

Karl Rove takes over the country and liberals take to the hills with their
guns knives copies of Das Kapital.
Hmmm... a Karlocracy... that doesn't sound like such a bad idea.

“The world is full of paranoia and unease.” Sounds like they think we are wrong to be scared. The only reason we fear terrorists is because we are bigots, or Bush put the ideas into our head. The reality that there are millions of loons out there wanting to destroy us is to be ignored, I guess.

is John Milus going to be involved?
Let me guess, the invading enemy will be an Alliance of China, Iran, and the Islamic Republic of France, right?

I was embarrassed to watch the movie. The intent was laudable, but the movie itself sucked. It was horrible.

If John Milius isn’t directing, than I’m not interested.

You’re probably right about the homo thing.
A true remake would replace the Hammer and sicle with a Crescent and scimitar.

Yep, it’s going to be an evil Christian theocracy versus an enlightened diverse group of young democrats. That’s hollyweirds version of portraying heroism in the post 9-11 world.
