I take it you've walked along Washington Street lately.

;-)

LOL...I didn't think it was that bad last couple of times I was there I didn't even see any.

You want to see bums, go to Cambridge, in Harvard Square and on Route 2 near the Alwife station. It pisses me off. Those are people COMPLETELY capable of working, but choose to panhandle, annoy people and obstruct traffic instead.

There is always a dumb ass who rolls down their window to hand them a dollar. I just cannot believe it.

In contrast, look at this guy:

This guy looks like he has cerebral palsy. he can only make a gutteral noise, move his head slightly, and has limited use of one arm.

He sits in his wheelchair right at the corner of Newbury Street at the Boston Common. Someone takes him there, sets him up with a cooler of soda on ice, and he does the rest. You put your money in the slot, and he lifts up the cover for you with his one good hand.

He isn't begging, though he could. He provides a service for people who want a cold soda on a hot day. He contributes. And then I see those scumbags in Cambridge who have full use of their bodies and minds, and instead, choose to panhandle.

I asked the guy if I could take his picture, to which he readily agreed. I keep it for times like this when the no-loads in Cambridge piss me off.
