“I am not going to sit in judgment of anyone, especially McCain. I am not God and it is not my place to do so.”

Well, I’ve got news for you. Our entire system of laws is based on making judgments. Murder is against the law because our society judges it to be immoral and harmful. Same for stealing and a whole host of other crimes.

What he did was not against the law. What he did was not uncommon. If we are to not sit in judgment of anyone however, then we should throw out our entire legal system and go to an every person for themselves plan.

This is not about any person having to be perfect. Nobody is perfect. It’s about holding up a certain level of accountability based on some basic ethics and morals and yes, rendering a judgment. I do have to say, that based on the fact McCain did own up to what he did, in spite of my extreme dislike of him, I have far more respect for him than I do those trying to rationalize what he did. The idea that nobody should ever be judged is partly responsible for the rapid decay of morality in our culture.

Divorce between a man and a woman is a lawfully civil action.

I can separate that action from I believe is lawful in society and what I believe spiritually.

Unfortunately, many on this thread cannot.
