This is very sad. As General Hammond he projected authority and humanity, playing well against O'Neill’s rebelliousness, Jackson's nerdiness, and Samantha's earnestness. I think that the loss of his centering presence is what weakened the series.

That is true.. I mean nothing against RDA and Beau, I thought that Don’s character was more believable..
