It is unfortunate, but some people serve as an example of how not to live your life.

What a dolt. And like her 85 pound body can handle what she’s been doing to it the past decade. Duh.

As long as my tax dollars don’t have to pay for her medical care, she can smoke anything she can find for all I care.

had developed the chronic lung disease emphysema, possibly brought on by smoking crack cocaine. What are the other variables... cause this couldn't "possibly" do this.

if she got her head straight, and dropped out of sight for a while, at her age, her lungs would probably adapt.

What is the significance of this person?
I’ve heard of U2, Coldplay, Brittany Spears, etc.
I can sympathize her medical plight, but is this not an oft-repeated story?

Perhaps Congress can mandate that the music and entertainment industry perform drug testing all it's artists and suspend those found with illegal substances in their bodies, mandate care and rehabilitation to those in violation of these drug tests and fine those corporate heads that allow this rampant drug use to continue...

This is so sad.
Nobody medicates themselves into this kind of self destruction if they can possibly help it. It must be like a slow motion car crash. Yes, it's all ultimately her fault, but it's still sad.
I always like videos and music where you can really hear the talent of the person, without the "wall of sound" that recordings of today have. If you want to really hear her sing, try this:

I’ve never even heard of her till about a week or so ago and that was here!
Looking at her, I think we should start a pool as to when she’ll commit suicide.
It’s all an act. She’ll just go too far with it.

The damage done from those drugs is beyond repair. Her emotional control or ability is irretrievable. Drugs are the only way she can feel anything.
And some here would argue that we need to legalize pot. That it is harmless and is an individual right. Amy’s problem started with that concept. To escape her normal existence. The problem is, it just requires a new level of escape each time. Pot leads to meth, coke, heroine and other deadly things.
There is no argument here either. There are some isolated cases that make the claim they can resist it, but for the majority, an addictive pattern eventually emerges and quicker for some. It’s a medical fact, to say otherwise is simply denial, and statistics clearly refute that denial.
