Stopped raining here. It’s supposed to be cooler tomorrow. Ice cream was very popular at the Folk Society hangout. I put in an hour shift dipping vanilla. I’m surprised my wrists don’t still hurt; it was pretty painful at the time.
I bought a dozen raffle tickets for a mandolin. If I win, I’ll have to learn how to play it. The drawing isn’t until December.

We’ve been getting one or two days of 80s, then rain, then 70 for the rest of the week.

Good morning! Still in the 70’s, and not raining at the moment. I guess I should go run before something happens to stop me.
Vlad used the toilet!

Morning. I think.
The “official” rainfall in Hotterville was 1/2”. However, out my front door, the courtyard was filled with about 2”-3” of water. Of course, within half an hour after the rain stopped, the concrete was bone dry. ;o]

It started raining just as I got my running clothes out, so I made up a shopping list and picked some vegetables. My first Japanese eggplant! Not sure what to do with it ...
We’re going to make hot sauce with our three jalapenos and one habanero, and take enchiladas to church next Sunday.

Around here, folks slice the eggplants lengthwise and grill them, along with sliced yams and zucchini and/or summer squash.
The slices are about 1/4” thick, and usually are started from the top to the bottom. They make nice big slabs! They also use red, green and/or yellow bell peppers, shiitake mushrooms, and asparagus spears.
This is so popular here that the combination is sold in packages in the produce sections of some of the “organic” stores.

Thanks - maybe I’ll have it for lunch, with ketchup!
Since I didn’t run, I’ll get on the treadmill later with my Dirk Pitt novel :-).

I like the vegetables grilled like that, but if I had to choose, it would be the yam, the peppers, mushrooms and asparagus. Oh. I almost forgot...they also add hugh slices of Bermuda onions.
So how do you like Dirk Pitt so far? And have you been to see http://www.numa.net?

Last I saw, it was headed northwest, but it might have made a slight detour!
We’re just icky-humid, today. Of course, showers are due in a few hours. A daily thing, dontchaknow, for the next few weeks. The increased humidity makes up for the decrease in temps. *blech*

True! But that would also depend upon one’s perspective. “One man’s meat is another man’s poison.”
