Good morning, everybody! If I can get Anoreth’s college registration squared away this a.m., then I’ll meet DP for lunch at the Thai restaurant by the library (also in aid of picking up everybody’s reserve books :-).

Warm, humid morning. I don’t plan to run today. Several things hurt after the last six days, and also it’s trash day, which is unpleasant for running, between the smell and the trucks.

Sounds like a plan, but I’m on the lam.

Later!

Wear your trench coat, your fedora, and your crepe-soled shoes!

...If they’re not well to start with, there’s less change they’ll be ready when it’s necessary to fight, or engage in hard labor in support of fighting men.

Which is exactly why they only accept men and women who are healthy to begin with. Boot Camp uncovers a lot of physical and mental problems that would not be spotted in a non-military environment.

Our men and women on the ground in Iraq and other desert countries not only have to endure the heat,(115-125) but they have to wear body armor and carry heavy equipment while they endure it. GOTTA be healthy for that!

You know it’s going to be a bad day when you open your eyes and the first thing you see is asphalt...

Chocolate is good for whatever ails you. Its medicinal purposes are never more exposed than in the Harry Potter books.

Which is why I ALWAYS have some handy! And yes, they work with migraines!

I’m a little beside myself, but otherwise, straining at the leash. (The collar is too tight.)

Any day where the eyes actually open is still a good day.

Unless you work in a diamond mine, any day above ground is a good day.

Well...I wasn’t ready to tell, yet, but yes...a Mini-Me would be accurate.

Back from Central Piedmont - Anoreth’s officially a college student! All fees paid and everything (sigh ...). All the sections of the English class for which she was approved were full, so we signed her up for Automotive Technology. Classes start August 16.

Good! Automotive Tech will be far more useful than the English class

When I went to a JC after some of the books parking was the single most expensive thing I paid for.

Is Automotive Technology a book class or will she need to find a car to replace the brakes on? I have a truck that leaks power steering fluid.
