I don’t think so. If we did, they couldn’t put pins in bones or use titanium replacement hips.

The skin shedding rang a bell.

Good point.

I will have to do more research.

Thanks.

"Is it true we grow a new skeleton every ten years?"

It's not entirely untrue. What they mean is that there are cells in your body that specialize in laying down bone, and others that can take it apart. They work like road crews, chewing up the asphalt, and then laying down a fresh surface.

The road in front of my house has been resurfaced a number of times, but it isn't a six-lane highway just yet.

The road in front of my house just sits there.

Rained about 2” here since my last post.

Like me, busy?

I've got just about everything packed for the trip except the kitchen, other's luggage and other things not my responsibility.

SUV is on its way home from the transmission shop so we won't have the hassle & expense of a rental.

Yep. It’s heading for Fayetteville and Greensboro at the moment. But you need the rain.

Wish ours did. It's gravel, on a hill, and impatient neighbors mess it up.

Sounds like my driveway. If you ever visit me, you’ll feel right at home, except my trees are oaks.

Oh, I'll feel at home there too. Grew up among oaks.

Sometimes these really tall cedars do make me nervous -- especially in the autumnal windstorms we get.

One of my oaks is dead. In the nature of oaks, it hasn't fallen down yet.

But it will.

Cedars often come down before they’re dead. They’ll rot out from the inside, invisibly, until... wham! You’ve got a new pile of nice-smelling, sparkly firewood.

Better load up on carbon credits before you go....cheaper than if you have to buy them on the road.

"Better load up on carbon credits before you go...."

That's what Michael Rennie did, in "The Day The Earth Stood Still".

He kept a pocket full of carbon credits.

I don’t know whether you’ve considered a tattoo, but how about this one?
