Well, it didn’t help my being a total n00b with Linux.
I ran the hash against my DVD image, and got the right numbers, and the DVD (the LIVE/install version) boots just fine, and I can play around with all the cool toys.
I just can’t get Install to progress beyond the 15% mark once I’ve specified the drive partitioning, and it didn’t make a difference whether I tried it Guided, Guided Whole disk, or Manual.
I even played around with QTpart trying to set up the partitions BEFORE I initiatied the Install & still got no play.

Hm. I just installed from the installation CD (not Live DVD) and it ran fine. Of course, different hardware... But a number of things that were questionable in Kubuntu 7.04 (like old HP printer installation) just simply worked this time out. Not perfect, but it’s dramatically improved from my experiences a decade ago.

I’ll try again another time, on another machine, and see what I get.
Maybe buy another pull-out carrier and load it up on a spare HD I have stashed away somewhere in the closet. One way or another I’ll work it out; it’s not like it’s a front-burner project.

I wasn’t going for powered wheels; more like roller skates. Granted, thes bunny slippers are the size of large bed pillows, stick out a foot to each side, and have ears I can grab onto like ski poles, but slap some wheels on the bottam and I might be able to leave the dust bunnies — well — in the dust.

So, this all began with me shuffling around looking for my copy of G. K. Chesterton’s “MAGIC: A Fantastic Comdey”, which I subseqeuntly found, and linked.
I’d read it, before, but it needed reading, again, and did not disappoint me.

Also, seeing that Project Gutenberg has a Plucker link for their content ALMOST makes me want to drop $350 for the Amazon KINDLE.

Sheesh!
You goof off for a couple of days, and the place turns into a technical gabfest.

The play was pretty darn funny! I had a B&W movie in my head while I was reading it, so it was all the more fun, for that.
Thanks for the link!

Well, maybe between the GUYS it was a technical gabfest. I felt like I was at a tennis match.

Sure... There aren't any security cameras in the datacenter itself though.
Might have to do some of that remote viewing.

Hi, everyone! I survived Brownies. Something bad happened while I was gone, but only Wednesday is talking.
Now I need to go sweep up: while I was bringing my things in from the van, Vlad decided to salt the dragons.

WHOA! Is Wednesday using her ESP to get in touch with your inner feline?
I won’t even ask how Vlad salted the dragons. I’m not really sure I want to know.

With a salt-shaker, of course.
Wednesday came out from behind the chair as soon as she saw me, told me several things in a very annoyed voice, ate a few bites of food, smacked Shannon a few times, and then went back behind the chair. She’s obvious unhappy with the services while I was gone.

From a cat's point of view, I guess your overnight was akin to desertion. Funny she blamed Shannon for it!!

I think she just smacked Shannon on general principles. She can give me all the details this evening after the kids go to bed.
Now I have to go put gas in the purple car to Anoreth can use it to take Pat and the girls to gymnastics later. I’ll be at the cardiologist with Bill. I need to find his paperwork, too.
