But that’s WONDERFUL! I think you may well find that you enjoy it immensely.

Now, you DID — along the way — give an eye to Chesterton?

How did you like his contrast of Conjurors and Journalists as opposites-in-principle?

Ever bit a contemporary observation, yet the work was written a Century ago.

*er*

I cheated. I printed it out so I can read it this evening.
I’ve always liked proof-reading, though I’m not too good at it with my own stuff.

Whenever I review my own writing, I proofread backwards. This forces my focus onto the individual words and punctuation. I think that’s the only viable method for proofing any written work with which one has a great degree of familiarity. Attempting to proof in normal reading order invites the mind to get caught up with the author’s concepts and ideas, and, as such, tends to create a barrier to noticing the technical minutiae of missed spelling and bad punctuation. This is nowhere more true than when the proofreader and the author are the same person.

Careful with the bunny slippers.
The dust bunnies are in mating season.

Good afternoon! Hit the ground running this morning — and had to, with the hundreds of e-mails stacked up. *\:-(

You might hear snuffling and see clouds of dust rising from behind you.
Don’t be alarmed, just hand over the slippers.

So did you have a bazillion emails?

They’ll NEVER get my Bunny Slippers! I worked too hard to get them out from under the bed!

You spaced the dust bunnies?
Uh oh.
They were keeping the zombies in the lower levels in check.

Hit the ground running this morning...

Congratulations! You accomplished one verb more than I did.

I had less than a dozen email to review, then the power went out at our Hayward HQ, so the VPN croaked, and I was relegated to "island" status. So, I busied myself doing a couple of rudimentary training sequences required for security badging and "trade restricted" data access.

The weekend was more fun; I was able to sucessfully test my home-made Windows XP Pro SP3 CD. It loaded my licenced copy of XP Pro onto a "naked" PC with Service Pack 3 included. [cool]

The one downer was that, after that bit of fun, I couldn't get my Kubuntu DVD to work on the same machine [Compaq Presario 450MHz P3 224MB RAM, 15GB c:\ and 13GB D:\]. But, I had fun tweakin' with it, anyway.

I’ve always liked proof-reading, though I’m not too good at it with my own stuff.

In that case I have a 700+ page technical standard that needs proof-reading. *\;-)

The dust bunnies are in mating season.

Thus my puttering around down in the shops, today, trying to retrofit some wheels onto the soles of these things.
