I was in Amsterdam in a bar talking to some Dutch Hell's Angels. I asked them what they did to get by, do for work, that kind of thing. They said ‘security’. Like what I asked. They said the liberal Dutch police, and society in general, don't do anything to below the threshold A-holes, bums, sneak thieves and such. So they get monthly contracts from the bars for security (of a type) and if the bars have any problems with anyone, they express a displeasure with that person.

Later on in a other tiny bar I was talking with the owner/bartender and he said it was true. They didn't bother calling the police, the HA were way more effective and cheaper.
