Out here we have a little thing called the Missouri boat ride

The last information I heard is that mozilla is having tech issues with the web site. Firefox 3 is ready, but the website isn't.

According to a
Firefox developer blog, there are 14,000 copies being downloaded per minute--that's around 233/second!

I downloaded v3 from the Firefox website about an hour ago. They seemed to have some problems with the transition from 2 to 3 with some links and graphics. Most of it appears to be corrected now. It’s crazy slow with so many users hitting the site. Mozilla is trying to set a single day record for software downloads.

I just finished installing the update on XP and a Vista machines. On the Vista it went well, no hiccups that I have found. On the XP it raised the devil with my bookmarks, deleted a bunch and moved others. May want to copy your bookmarks before installing.

Maybe the remote backup is optional with Foxmarks; I dont know.
Foxmarks requires some common system, accessible via the web from all the computers whose bookmarks you are synchronizing.
By default, and the easiest way, it uses the Foxmarks server. But, as explained at Using Other Servers, you can use your own web server, so long as it supports FTP or WebDAV. I use Fastmail.fm for email service, and they provide WebDAV services, which I use to synchronize my Firefox bookmarks via Foxmarks.

One thing I like a LOT so far: if you mark to open automatically with a given app, it actually does. Unlike 2.
A problem: in the newer version of Yahoo! email, right-clicking an email wrongly in the Spam folder doesn’t bring the popup menu allowing the “This is not spam” option.

...and another thing I don’t like is that my minimize-to-systray addon isn’t compatible.

Problem is some of the add-ons, one of the best reasons to use Firefox, are not FF3 ready.
To: Perdogg
The "gold" version is here! Downloaded it tonight; runs well. Most of my add ons where incompatible with Firefox 3. But its the latest and greatest version of the world's most popular little web browser!
