This is the post:
“To those who feel like making their point”
A number of you have posted only to have your post deleted. You may not have used profanities. You may not have been racist, sexist or inflammatory. But you broke all standards of good taste.
When Ted Kennedy was diagnosed a couple weeks back, Free Republic had to shut down its forum because the negative comments got out of hand. Let that sink in: the most conservative website had to shut down a forum because they were repulsed by what was being posted about a liberal.
Salon is doing you a favor because even if you won’t look back and be embarrassed, a lot of other people will be pretty disappointed in you. A person, especially a liberal, should never celebrate another’s death, especially when it is someone who has never killed another person but was merely a news personality. You never liked him? Fine. But don’t celebrate his death. That’s morbid and it is, in many ways, inhumane.
Everyone is free to have these thoughts, but for the sake of your own standing you should probably keep them to yourself. If you are unable to understand this, imagine if similar things were said after your wife/parents/child died.
Though I’ll never meet them, I feel very sorry for Mr. Russert’s son and father, and the rest of his family.
A person, especially a liberal, should never celebrate anothers death, especially when it is someone who has never killed another person...
