I have already emailed Cartoon Network! I’m sure they will have a good laugh and not give a damn, but it still felt good to get it off my chest.
I would love to start some kind of signature protest, but how? I have never done that before. I would like to at least put my money where my mouth is and do something more than just complain! Do you have any ideas?

If you have friends and family and a town that will work with it start there. Just stand in front of a store that is frequented and ask people to sign it. Then copy the sheet and mail off to the offending advertisers (because they pick the times they display the ads) and the offending Networks that show the ads.
As to a petition on FReeRepublic, I would think you could just put a thread up explaining your position. Probably best if you study the advertisers, put their email addresses link and the network email link that showed the ad. If you make the links easy to access the people will come.
