Saw Joan Jett years ago at a real small venue. Around 1985. Shook her hand while she was on stage reaching into the crowd. Right before she stood up and started flipping sweat off her chin into the crowd. Seriously.

(And still go to see Duran Duran whenever they’re in town...)
Saw Duran Duran in the summer of 2005. Nick Rhodes and Simon have both aged well. Andy Taylor and John Taylor, however, not so much.... I used to have a serious crush on John when I was a teenager, and during this concert I was 10 feet away from him for nearly 1 1/2 hours.... all I could think of was: “What the hell happened to you, John?!?....”

I'm curious where you found that early picture of Belinda Carlisle. Did you snap that? Any idea who the others in the picture are? I had a serious crush on Belinda Carlisle at about the same time you had a crush on John Taylor. That was way back when MTV was actually about music.
Well, I’m not a Madonna fan per se, and I actually find her sort of repulsive, but there’s no denying that this gal has really made a name for herself and for her music for three decades — 80s, 90s and 00s. Don’t even get my husnband started on her — he can’t stand her at all and says that she’s so overrated. I guess many people feel that way.
I have no idea who the other girls with Belinda are, although I think that the one in the middle is the first bassist for the Go-Go’s, Margot Olavarria, before she was replaced by Kathy Valentine in 1980.

I always thought she was so talented.... I hope that someday she and Lita Ford and the surviving members of The Runaways could get together and play some concerts. I read somewhere that Joan does not want to do it.
I like her music a lot and think she is very talented as well. But yeah.... she’s got issues :)
