Is Ron Paul behind this? I intensely dislike B’roke but this isn’t the way to g’ter done.
If you read the opinion closely, Hawaii’s statehood status IS nOT the issue. Obama’s parents are the issue.
Obama did not have two parents who were U.S. citizens so the age requirements of his mother kicked in. That’s the sole issue as clearly spelled out in the opinion.
While it would have been nice if “legendx3” had listed and linked references, you are shooting from the hip by calling this “stupidity”. As for “there is no doubt that Barak Obama is a natural born US citizen”, yes, there is reasonable doubt.
I say this as the father of a Kenyan born daughter. Both parents are US citizens, so she was able to claim US citizenship.
You make a good point except for the minor fact that THIS APPEARS TO BE TRUE AND ACCURATE according to the relevant laws at the time! And it is getting traction.
bump ...
We change the rules on the fly for democrats.
If this ever went to court it would drag out for years...Osama would make sure of that.If it’s still pending on Inauguration Day he’ll most certainly be sworn in and if, during his tenure as President, the Supreme Court were to decide that he wasn’t a “natural born citizen” then a huge,years-long court battle would begin regarding removing him from office.Translation...this will not prevent him serving one or two full terms,as decided by the electorate.
I would say this rumor is exactly behind getting ahold of his Birth Certificate. What’s he scared of? Mohammed?
Because they aren’t arguing the law. They are trying to twist and squeeze the law to fit a goal.
Obama’s mother did not have to be 21 for him to be a natural born citizen. She was a citizen, she was in a U.S. State when he was born, thus he is a natural born U.S. citizen regardless of her age.
The “five years after 16 years of age” is irrelevent if he matches the requirements set before that clause, and he does.
The fact that this keeps being brought up is stupid.
But is she considered to be a "natural born" citizen? Or hasn't that question ever come up with her?
“If this ever went to court it would drag out for years.”
Like Bush v Gore?
Won’t the lefties go absolutely berserk if their candidate’s fate is decided by the SCOTUS.....again.
Too delicious.

...."I'll third that!"
He was born in the U.S. to a U.S. citizen.
Done.
If you're born in the United States, you're a US citizen unless you're the child of a foreign diplomat.
Don't try to practice law without a license.
Was he born in Hawaii? Yes. Was Hawaii a State? Yes. Was his mother a U.S. citizen? Yes.
He is a natural born U.S. citizen.
“Obamas mother did not have to be 21 for him to be a natural born citizen. She was a citizen, she was in a U.S. State when he was born, thus he is a natural born U.S. citizen regardless of her age.”
Apparently, the law at the time of his birth said otherwise.
I guess she will just have to run for president once she turns 35 so that we can find out. :-)
Murmers about this for months. Malkin has now picked it up.
Possible? yes.
probable? no.
Should Obama give proof? Yes.
The Muslim, Barrack Hussein, was born in Hawaii and is a natural born citizen.
However, as I understand how the law is written, Barrack Hussein is not eligible to become President of the United States based upon the status of his parents.
