What's interesting is that a lot of the newer Hollywood stars avoid taking a political stance because of one reason: it could seriously hurt their careers. I haven't heard the political stance of Miley Cyrus, mostly because she's making way too much money in her Hannah Montana role and taking any political stance could kibosh her career in no time flat, as the Dixie Chicks found out much to their chagrin.

I figured that everyone in the entertainment industry got a good look at the Dixie Chicks saga and decided they didn’t need that kind of drama. Whether or not the Chicks insist they’ve opened up new audiences and music styles—I’m betting that Nat would have held her peace could she do it all over again.
