He was just absolutely awful.. He did not know much about football at all (say what you want about Rush's comments that got him in trouble, at least the guy knew the sport), so he made up for it by trying to crack jokes, which weren't funny at all and caused awkward periods of silence in which the other announcers tried to figure out what exactly he was even talking about.
The funny thing is, I used to be a big fan of his original HBO show. But when it came to MNF, I wanted to punch him in the face every time he spoke.
I can see that . . . I’d recommend his radio program because he appears to have “come into his own,” but you need to enjoy biting, sardonic humor. If you don’t . . . .
You must have missed the time a field reporter was interviewing Titans owner Bud Adams. When they threw it back to the booth, miller said something like “I know we’re playing on natural grass here, but I could have swore I just saw some artificial turf.” I fell out of my chair!
