I thought Charlottesville was in Virginia, and Charlotte in North Carolina...but I could be wrong. :)

Maybe it’s a ploy by the Charlotte chamber of commerce to make the Charlottopolis sound like a friendlier city.

Charlottesville is a cuter name.
