Thats a default linksys router address, if I recall correctly.
I'm pretty sure that (1) she doesn't have a router, (2) if she had connection problems between the PC and router, the PC would not be showing the routers address, default or otherwise, in its ipconfig output, and (3) the default Linksys IP addrs start with
192.168, not
169.

Hmmmmmm.......Not sure, but it looked like a gateway addy....May have come from the ISP...I dunno.....
It seems to me, that you are correct about one thing for sure. That there is a missing piece of info and it is causing some problems diagnosing the issue.
