You may be right. If McCain wins in ‘08, consider the conservative movement on life support. Scary times we’re in.
I don’t think even his most ardent supporters believe he is a true conservative. McCain today = McCain of 2000 plus some rhetoric. As soon as a president gets into power, he will already be thinking about his legacy. Considering the Congress will be in Democratic hands for the foreseeable future, McCain will have no choice but to sell out on everything he has promised. He will not be able to deliver justices like Alito; you can forget about extending the tax cuts; there is NO way that he would veto new Medicare entitlements etc.
